Campus Bereavement - Lowering of Flag

The University will acknowledge the death of HSU faculty and staff (both current and former employees) and others as the President deems appropriate, through the lowering of the flags at half-mast. The confirmed death of an employee should be reported to the Office of the President as soon as it becomes known. With the approval of the President, the lowering of the flags for one day - usually the date of the memorial service - will be coordinated with University Police.

Critical Immediate Send Message

Many computer users have experienced a substantial increase in unsolicited mass email. Unsolicited email often obscures important messages that relate directly to academic and administrative activities within the university.

On February 2, 2006, the Executive Committee approved this Critical Immediate Send Messages policy, to be effective immediately. The policy may be found at the ITS web site:

Interim Management Personnel Plan Appointments

The purpose of this policy statement is to set forth guidelines for the use of acting or interim appointments in the Management Personnel Plan (MPP). For the purposes of this policy, the term “acting” or “interim” are used interchangeably. As a general principle, interim appointments are not favored as a method for filling positions for which a search would normally be conducted.
