Data Classification Standards - HSU Implementation of the CSU Data Classification Standards

Background:

In accordance with the binding requirements of federal laws, state laws, and CSU policies that govern how private and confidential data are collected, managed and protected, Humboldt State University recognizes its affirmative and continuing obligation to provide appropriate administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect such university information assets.

Critical Immediate Send Message

Many computer users have experienced a substantial increase in unsolicited mass email. Unsolicited email often obscures important messages that relate directly to academic and administrative activities within the university.

On February 2, 2006, the Executive Committee approved this Critical Immediate Send Messages policy, to be effective immediately. The policy may be found at the ITS web site:

Injury and Illness Prevention Program - Implementation of Campus

The California Division of Occupational Safety, Cal/OSHA, requires all employers to have an effective injury and illness prevention program per the California Code of Regulations, Title 8, Section 3203. The office of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) has developed the campus Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and will be responsible for working directly with departments to implement the IIP in a phased approach.

University Space and Facilities Committee

Duties:

Develop and coordinate recommendations for review through the University Executive Committee to the University President regarding all physical aspects of the campus. This includes, but may not be limited to, the assignment of space, building and renovation plans, alteration of the campus grounds, campus planning and design standards, and the prioritization of minor and major capital requests.

Interim Management Personnel Plan Appointments

The purpose of this policy statement is to set forth guidelines for the use of acting or interim appointments in the Management Personnel Plan (MPP). For the purposes of this policy, the term “acting” or “interim” are used interchangeably. As a general principle, interim appointments are not favored as a method for filling positions for which a search would normally be conducted.

Crisis Prevention and Assessment Team

The Humboldt State University Crisis Prevention and Assessment Team (the "Team") is charged with assessing and recommending appropriate responses to potential workplace violence and threat situations on the Humboldt State University campus which involve students, staff, and/or faculty members collectively, individually, or any combination thereof.

Diversity Plan Action Council

Supersedes P06-01, P99-5, P96-5, P88-8, P88-1, P85-11, P83-12, P80-04

Upon the recommendation of the University Executive Committee, the Diversity Plan Action Council replaces the Educational Equity Committee (Executive Memorandum P88-1) and the Committee for Equal Rights & Diversity (Executive Memorandum P99-5).
