Upon the recommendation of the University Executive Committee, the Diversity Plan Action Council replaces the Educational Equity Committee (Executive Memorandum P88-1) and the Committee for Equal Rights & Diversity (Executive Memorandum P99-5).
Introduction:
The development of the apparently new viral infection Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) has been widely reported worldwide, and followed closely by the CSU system and HSU. The University has developed the following policy in response to the seriousness of the illness. This policy would be implemented in the unlikely event of a SARS case locally.
Reports to: The President through the University Executive Committee
The committee will receive, review and prioritize funding allocation requests for multicultural programs. A fixed budget will be allocated for funding these multicultural programs. The committee will recommend funding prioritized programming to the President for his signature.
Pursuant to the California Administrative Code (Subchapter 5 of Part V of Title 5) and related policies adopted by the Board of Trustees, the following policies have been recommended by the University Executive Committee and approved by the President.
It is widely recognized that alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse poses a threat to the safety and well-being of students, staff and faculty in University communities, and may significantly compromise their academic and professional endeavors. Board of Trustees' policy, the 1988 Drug-Free Workplace Act, and the 1989 Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Amendment require a program to prevent the use of illicit drugs and the abuse of alcohol by students and employees.
