Addendum to Policy for Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity in Recruitment and Appointment

This addendum to Executive Memorandum P00-06 strengthens Humboldt State University's commitment to an environment free from unlawful discrimination, as well as its commitment to a professional, highly trained and diverse faculty and staff.  Academic Personnel Services and Human Resources (APSHR) and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) have been instructed to become actively involved in the hiring process of all faculty and staff and to take appropriate action where deemed necessary.

Background and Criminal Records Check Policy and Procedures

Background

The California State University (CSU) has delegated authority to the campus presidents to establish campus requirements for background and criminal record checks for applicants and current employees hired into vacant positions (Chancellor’s Office HR Technical Letter HR2005-10, http://www.calstate.edu/HRAdm/pdf2005/HR2005-10.pdf). Additional authorization information may be found in Education Code Section 89535 (g) and (h).

Network Connection Policy

Background

The HSU “Network” consists of cables and wireless media, equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls and computers, signals, communication protocols, and network based services used to transmit data. The campus network is a resource used by the entire campus community. To ensure that this resource is properly maintained and available for its intended use, all network-attached devices must conform to a minimum, uniform standard.  

Found, Unclaimed, or Abandoned Property Policy

Background:

The CSU Trustees delegate authority to each campus President to provide for the care, restitution, sale or destruction of found, unclaimed, or abandoned property that comes into the possession of the University, in accordance with Title 5, Sections 42375 and 42376 of the California Code of Regulations, Section 2080.8 of the California Civil Code, and Section 3250.1 of the Integrated California State University Administrative Manual.

Humboldt State University (HSU) is committed to maintaining and strengthening an educational, working, and living environment founded on dignity and social responsibility. Sexual misconduct (including sexual assault and sexual harassment), intimate partner/domestic violence, dating violence and stalking as well as acts of retaliation against survivors go against the standards and ideals of our community and will not be tolerated. HSU aims to eliminate these harmful actions through education, training, clear policy, and serious consequences for violations of this policy.
